March 2022 Events!

1. 🥞 Pancake Day (47 days before Easter Sunday) #PancakeDay #ShroveTuesday

Following Christian traditions, Pancake Day is celebrated as the last day of feasting before Lent starts the following day - Ash Wednesday. The celebration is also known as Mardi Gras in some parts of the world!

#PancakeDay trends every year on Twitter. Try puns, pics and pancake frivolity to make your tweet stand out! Here’s Innocent Smoothies’ post to get you thinking:

3. 🦓 World Wildlife Day #WorldWildlifeDay

It's important to be aware of our impact on the natural world, and World Wildlife Day brings awareness to threatened and endangered species across the globe. It's also a day to encourage followers to go out and experience wildlife in their local area.

On World Wildlife Day, take to social media to show your support for the environment! Take advantage of trending hashtags to promote your products, or engage your followers. 🐾🌱

4. 🔌 National Day of Unplugging (First Friday in March) #NationalDayOfUnplugging

A free idea for bosses – combine National Employee Appreciation Day with National Day of Unplugging by giving your employees at least a half-day (or the whole day!) off to get away from their phones and screens to enjoy a carefree day.

You could suggest reasons to unplug, which also promotes your products, especially if you are in the wellness industry! Take GOOP for example...

7. 🥣 National Cereal Day #NationalCerealDay

Go to the pantry and pull out your favorite box of sugary oats for this day that celebrates a treat enjoyed by people young and old.

Time to engage your audience in conversation! Ask your fans what their favourite cereal is? Maybe make a crazy cereal creation including your product or ask your team how they make their cereal in the mornings - you never know someone might add milk before the cereal. 😱

8. 👩 International Women's Day #BeBoldForChange #InternationalWomensDay

Celebrate the women in your life and the achievements of women all over the world on International Women's Day. If you're looking for inspiring women in marketing, Socialbakers (now part of Emplifi) created a list of 20 female marketers to follow.

If you're a woman in business, today is the day to SHOUT about your brand! Maybe you can promote a special offer for this day, show off your womens best sellers, partner with other female brands in a giveaway - the possibilities are endless. Support women and share the love 💕

Ikea: FiftyFifty

Women globally do three times more work in the home than men, and the pandemic has only intensified many household pain points.

To help couples open an honest and fun conversation about how to better balance their responsibilities at home, Ikea has released a free, digital card game.

8. 🔍 National Proofreading Day #NationalProofreadingDay

It's always a good idea to re-read that email before you hit send, or walk away from the screen in order to check an article again with fresh eyes. On National Proofreading Day, practice good habits that help limit communication mistakes.

We social media managers know that you have to read and reread and rereread all copy before pressing send! Time to make a meme for this notorious day! 😂

There are 3.14159265359…reasons to celebrate Pi Day.

A pizza company in Boston, Blaze, used Pi Day as inspiration to run a promo that offered a memorable and positive customer experience — they offered discounted pizza pies (get it?) for only $3.14 on Pi Day. 🍕

14. 💤 National Napping Day (Day after DST) #NationalNappingDay

Let's be honest, who couldn't use an extra bit of shuteye? This day is recognized as the day after daylight savings time returns as a way to get back the hour we just lost, but really any day is a good day for a nap.

Remind your followers that napping isn’t lazy, it’s an art. Where would we be without napping? A whole lot more tired. Napping is an ancient art practiced by people across the globe. Like all arts, however, napping like a pro takes skill.

17. 🍀 St. Patrick's Day #StPatricksDay

Though often celebrated now by tipping back a green beer, St. Patrick's Day is on March 17 to remember the death of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, and the tradition of wearing green on this day dates back a few centuries, even though Patrick was originally associated with the color blue.

Turn your social feed green with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations! Krispy Kreme temporarily changed their iconic Original Glazed Donut to an "O'riginal Glazed Donut" for one day only (see what they did there?)

Food dyed green for St. Patrick's Day is not a new strategy, but because Krispy Kreme is such a traditional brand (and their glazed donut is one of the most well-known donuts), it has garnered a lot of press, and there's a chance their sales today will reflect that.

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in a memorable way, and the messaging of 'one day only' brings an air of urgency to the campaign.

18. 🔴👃 Red Nose Day #RedNoseDay

Red Nose Day is an initiative to end child hunger, poverty, boost safety, and education. Read up more about it on the Red Nose Day Foundation's website.

Comic Relief continues to make a difference to the lives of millions of people across the UK and around the world. Find out how you can get involved, it is always a good week for fun & silliness (we could use some of that after the last few years) and meeting the new 'noses'. Share your ideas and ask your customers to support you in your fundraising.

18. 😬 National Awkward Moments Day #NationalAwkwardMomentsDay

Remember when you accidentally hit reply-all to that message or you said something about your boss (and it turned out she was right behind you)? At least you're not alone, so share awkward stories and take solace in the fact that you're not alone.

Everyone everywhere has had an awkward moment at least once in their lives. Awkward Moments Day celebrates the embarrassing times — tripping over nothing, calling people by the wrong name, showing someone a trick and failing — and encourages you to laugh instead of blush. Encourage your audience to recount their cringeworthy stories and tag their friends. 😂

20. 😀 International Day of Happiness #InternationalDayofHappiness #DayofHappiness

The idea behind this day is that human progress should include increasing happiness and wellbeing, with the UN in 2011 adopting a resolution that stated happiness is a fundamental human goal.

Prove to your followers that the key to happiness is your business! If you have a glowing review left by a customer or client, now’s the time to bring it out. You can even increase your online presence by offering a deal for people who leave reviews.

20. 🦋 First Day of Spring #FirstDayofSpring #SpringBegins #DayofNowruz

The season changing from winter to spring is always an exciting time as it often brings nicer weather, while plants and animals come to life. There's also the idea of spring cleaning, which is an opportunity to start anew and is celebrated in some parts of the world as the International Day of Nowruz, which translates as new day.

It’s a beautiful time of year. Potential customers are gearing up to spend more time outdoors. Showcase your best-sellers and discounts on your favorite social channel!

21. World Poetry Day #WorldPoetryDay

Roses are red, violets are blue; I just wrote a (bad) poem, and so can you!

23. 🐶 National Puppy Day #NationalPuppyDay

Puppies can bring so much joy with their unconditional love, and appreciating them is what this day is all about. Check out this list of top dog influencers by Socialbakers (now part of Emplifi) for some content inspiration.

Share your favourite puppy content and encourage your followers to share photos of their fur babies!

26. 🌏 Earth Hour Day (Last Saturday in March) #EarthHour

Organized by the World Wildlife Fund, on Earth Hour Day people are encouraged to turn off all non-essential electronics and lights in their homes from 8:30-9:30 p.m. as a way to show their commitment to helping the planet. You can take this even further with things like the #DanceForThePlanet challenge on TikTok.

Win the hearts of your followers (and Mother Nature) by supporting Earth Hour.

Earth Hour isn’t only about unplugging for an hour, switching off your lights, and shutting your laptop. It’s about making a statement about the ever-growing climate crisis. Last year alone, 17,900+ landmarks and monuments switched off their lights across 188 countries and territories in support of the movement.

27. 💕 Mother’s Day

To celebrate all Mums. A day for them to put up their feet and be waited on hand and foot. Presents in the form of cards and flowers are traditionally given – along with many cups of tea. So is this an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Mums in your business?

Here is some inspo from Procter and Gamble!

27. 🏆 Oscars / 94th Academy Awards

An Oscar is a highly coveted award and celebrities travel worldwide to attend this event – although this year it may all be done virtually due to Covid-19. But who do you think will win? Who will be the best and worst dressed? Why not produce some related blog content? Try and link the title to this popular awards ceremony to increase your Google ranking. Remember to produce posts over 600 words long, that way it will further increase your Google ranking.
