Salary:

We're looking for an ambitious and proactive Business Development Executive to join Truffle's growing commercial team. Sitting within our business development function and working closely to support the Partnerships & Commercial Growth Manager, this is a hands-on role focused on generating new leads, managing a strong pipeline, and converting opportunities into long-term client relationships.

You'll be the engine behind our outreach activity, identifying the right prospects, making first contact, qualifying opportunities, and supporting the end-to-end pitch process. This is a fantastic role for someone with 2–3 years of BD or sales experience who is ready to take ownership of their pipeline and grow within a fast-moving agency environment.

Responsibilities of the role

New Business Development

  • Lead generation & outreach. Proactively identify and contact potential clients through a range of channels (calls, emails, LinkedIn, and networking events) to build a consistent flow of new opportunities.
  • Lead qualification. Assess inbound and outbound leads against Truffle's ideal client profile, ensuring time and effort is focused on high-quality, well-aligned prospects.
  • Pipeline management. Own and maintain an active, well-organised pipeline using our CRM, keeping records accurate and providing regular updates to the Partnerships & Commercial Growth Manager on lead progression and deal status.
  • Supporting inbound enquiries. Work with the wider team to respond to and nurture inbound leads, helping move organic opportunities forward in a timely and professional manner.
  • Proposal & pitch support. Contribute to the development of tailored proposals, presentations, and credentials decks, drawing on Truffle's social media expertise and showcasing our value to prospective clients.
  • Closing deals. Support and lead contract discussions where appropriate, working towards agreed targets and contributing to the agency's revenue growth.

Partnerships & Strategic Support

  • Support the Partnerships & Commercial Growth Manager in identifying and developing strategic partnerships with complementary brands, platforms, and industry networks.
  • Contribute ideas and observations that inform Truffle's evolving new business strategy, based on your day-to-day activity in the market.
  • Begin building relationships with brand-side marketers and decision-makers, with a view to developing longer-term partnerships over time.

Reporting & Market Awareness

  • Maintain up-to-date records of sales activity, lead status, and pipeline progress, contributing to Truffle's weekly BD reports.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the social media and digital marketing space, flagging relevant insights to the wider team.
  • Contribute to research tasks as needed, including sector research, prospect lists, and market mapping.

Team & Culture

  • Actively contribute to team-wide new business efforts, including collaborating on social media content that supports BD objectives (e.g. LinkedIn posts highlighting agency wins, culture, or campaigns).
  • Over time, support the onboarding and day-to-day guidance of a BD Assistant, helping to establish good habits and processes within the BD function.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a client-facing commercial role, ideally within a social media, digital marketing, or creative agency environment.
  • A solid understanding of social media marketing and digital campaigns, with genuine interest in the space.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will be confident reaching out cold and building relationships from scratch.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple leads and priorities at once.
  • Comfortable contributing to proposals and presentations, with clear and compelling written communication.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and a methodical approach to pipeline management.
  • An interest in data and performance, with the ability to track your own activity and spot what's working.
  • Knowledge of content creation, paid media, SEO, or influencer marketing is a plus.
